Phase 1 : 2024 - 2025

  • Recycled hard wearing fabric

Duratex fabric is high quality, durable fabric made from recycled plastic bottles. Studies have shown that recycled polyester has a 70% lower carbon impact compared to virgin polyester. *

  • Locally sourced recycled fibre

Our unique recycled fill is made from re-processed plastic & polyester diverted from landfill. Recycled polyester has a significantly lower carbon & wastewater impact.*

  • Designed & manufactured in the UK

Project Blu products are proudly made in the UK. Our Yorkshire facility has been hand making dog beds for over 40 years, delivering top quality products that helps promote local jobs and the economy.

Built to last

Project Blu products are proudly designed & handmade in the UK using top quality craftsmanship. Our products are designed to last and incorporate top quality materials that will ensure you can enjoy your dog bed for many years.

Our 220GSM upholstery grade fabric exceeds a rub test of 20,000 cycles and are made of 100% recycled materials.

Our high performance 100% recycled staple fibres offer superior quality and have demonstrated long term resilience. This ensures your pet bed will stay in top condition for many years.

Preventing UK landfill

Pet beds currently cannot be recycled in the UK. If (hypothetically) every UK dog received a new bed once a year, this would generate over 42,000 tons of waste material. That is enough waste material to fill Big Ben over 38 times every year!*

Our unique recycling processes separates the core components of a dog bed including the fabric, polyester and foam. These materials are then cleaned, sorted and re-incorporated into the supply chain.

If we cannot use the recycled materials in our new pet beds, we ensure they avoid landfill and have a second life in products such as loft insulation or carpet underlay.

Phase 2 : 2025-2026

It is our ambition to produce the World’s first fully circular dog bed by 2026. Our unique methodology will offer top quality, sustainable and locally produced products at competitive prices for the UK market.

This innovation can potentially save millions of dog beds from landfill, significantly improving the environmental impact of the pet accessories category and reducing the dependence on petrochemical products.
